How To Deodorize Ski Boots? [Expert Guide!]

Sharing is Caring

Do you ever wake up in the morning, only to find that your ski boots have started smelling a little bit musty?

While it’s not pleasant to wake up to that smell, it’s not quite as bad as waking up to the overpowering odors of wet dog or cat. So while you might not want to throw away your ski boots just yet, you might want to try and deodorize them. But how?

Luckily, there’s a simple solution to this problem. All you need is a ball of aluminum foil, a couple of drops of essential oil, and a heat-resistant surface. All you need to do is follow these steps:

  • Wash the outside of your ski boots with soap and water
  • Put the cleaned boots on a saucer or shallow dish
  • Apply a thin layer of oil to the inside of the boots (make sure to not go above the insole)
  • Put on the aluminum foil
  • Wrap the foil around the outer edge of the boots (make sure to not cover the base)
  • Put on the socks and slide your feet into the shoes
  • Close the boots and enjoy your new deodorized ski boots

To be honest, this is one of the easiest, least time-consuming and most effective ways to make your skis and ski boots last longer. Not only will washing and drying them regularly keep the odor at bay, but it will also keep your feet smelling great too.

So the next time your ski boots start smelling a little bit musty, try out this easy and affordable method and see how long they last!
