The Coughlins hit the slopes each weeknight, with Friday night ‘s Ski Safari proving to be a particular highlight, as the entire family would get involved, skiing alongside experts, learning new tricks, and having a great time. Unfortunately, tragedy struck in February of this year, when a huge snowstorm barraged the area, causing $18 million in damage and forcing the Coughlins to cancel their ski vacation.

Although the Coughlins have tragically had to cancel their vacation, they are not alone in wanting to get back out on the mountain. The storm in February damaged many small businesses in the area, leaving workers without pay and many locals without a way to make a living. Since then, the ski resort has worked hard to restore some sense of normality to their otherwise luxurious lifestyle, and have set up a Recovery Fund, offering assistance to people directly affected by the pandemic. In addition to this, the mountain has also stepped up efforts to become more eco-friendly, investing in solar power and reducing their plastic waste.
Many large companies also stepped up to help, providing food and drink for those affected by the lockdown, as well as paying their employees.
