How Much Are Lift Tickets At Sunrise Ski Resort? [Ultimate Guide!]

Spread the love

With the summer holidays now behind us, it’s time to look at the weather and decide where to go for a ski vacation. One option is the Sunrise Ski Resort in New Jersey. With its panoramic views of the Great Lakes and its snow-capped summit, it’s not hard to see why so many people head there each year, but how much do lift tickets cost? Let’s find out.

The Best Time To Visit The Resort

The best time to visit the resort is between October and April, when the temperatures are at their lowest and the snow at its best. Although the slopes are packed with skiers and snowboarders in the winter, there are fewer tents and igloos around. Lift ticket prices reflect this, with the most expensive months being either November or March. The summer months, from June to August, are also very busy at the resort, with people coming from all over the world to hike its many trails. From May to September, daytime temperatures in the area are high and sunny, but the evenings can turn cold and windy, so watch out for sudden downpours of rain that may ruin your day out.

How Many Days Are Viable For A Ski Trip To New Jersey?

Even if you’re the most dedicated of winter sports enthusiasts and have the time off work, there’s still a lot you can get done in three days. Two days to explore the area and catch some rays at the beach before heading back for the evening, and a third day for some powder. In reality, there’s no reason why you can’t pop over for a day or two and catch some great mountain views, sunsets, and maybe even some snowflakes. You’ll have to check with the resort if it’s feasible to upgrade your ticket to include more than three days. Most resorts have an option of how many days you can use the pass. For example, the Sunshine Ski Resort in North Carolina allows you to use its passes for 4, 5, or 6 days.

Which Weekend To Visit The Resort?

The best time for visitors from the UK to head to the resort is either the Saturday before or after a long, hot summer weekend, when the temperatures are at their absolute peak. This is because the slopes and the accommodation will be packed, and there won’t be many good values left for the weekend. If you want to travel to New Jersey for the weekend, we recommend either heading there during the week and catching the weekend free or using a travel agency that offers value-added services like parking and lounge access.

What Type Of Clothing Should You Bring?

You’ll need some warm clothes regardless of the time of year, so make sure you pack accordingly. In the winter, the snowboard will protect you from the wind chill, so be sure to bring a few pairs of snowboard gear, and in the summer, you’ll need something light and airy. As for the actual ski gear, make sure you bring something that’s both functional and stylish. You don’t want to be wearing plain, saggy jeans, and you certainly don’t want to spoil the stylish look of your ski vacation by looking like a mess on the slopes. Some people even wear brightly colored ski suits and accessories during the summer to make it easier for everyone to spot them on the mountain.

How Do You Get To The Resort?

By car, it’s a straight shot down I-95 South, exit 18, heading towards the New Jersey Turnpike. From here you can either take the New Jersey Turnpike North or South. The most scenic route is to take the New Jersey Turnpike South, which will bring you to the George Washington Bridge. Cross this bridge, and you’ll be in Downtown Manhattan in under 20 minutes. Continue on the New Jersey Turnpike South to the Garden State Parkway, and after a mile or so, take a right on to the parkway.

Alternatively, you can follow the New Jersey Turnpike North to Interstate 80 West. Once over the bridge, make a right onto the parkway and continue on towards the Great Lakes. Follow the signs for the Appalachian Trail, and after a couple of miles, you’ll see the turnoff to the right, leading you to the resort.

How Do You Get Back To The Hotel?

There are two options here: either take the New Jersey Turnpike North back to the George Washington Bridge, or continue on the parkway all the way towards I-80 East, where you can catch the train back to Manhattan. Going via the North Road will take you past some great places to eat and drink, as well as Lambertville. This latter town is famous for its apple orchards, whose fruit we find in supermarkets all over the country, so make sure you don’t starve while you’re away.

Is It Possible To Get A Discount On The Resort?

Discounts are always possible, but it might take some doing. The best place to look for such an offer is either the resort’s website or Facebook page, as these are usually the places where coupons and discounts are listed. Also, check with the resort’s phone number, as sometimes these are given as part of the promotional materials for the resort. Always check the terms and conditions before applying for a discount.

While it’s always desirable to find a discount, especially at a reputable resort, make sure you don’t throw away any money on expensive drinks and snacks. Enjoy your meal and make the most of the experience, as these are what you’re here for. Some of the resorts give you an hour or two of free WiFi per day, so you can check your emails and do some light online shopping. Otherwise, you’ll have to pay for the data on your mobile phone.
